Optical Design Assignment 5
- Design a 50-mm focal length f/5.6 double gauss lens with a half-field
of view of 24°. Your merit function shoud use standard
wavelengths and fractional fields of 0, 0.7, and 1.
- Re-design the lens for f/2.8 and a half-field of view of
35°.
- Design a 50-mm focal length f/1.4 double gauss lens with a
half-field of view of 24°.
- Use MATLAB to generate images showing 0.5, 1, and 2 waves of
aberration for W020 = r2,
W040 = r4, astigmatism (line
focus) = y2, astigmatism (mid focus) =
x2 - y2, and coma =
r2 y
For each lens, provide
- a full listing of lens data
- a drawing of the lens
- rms spot size vs. field
- focal length vs. wavelength
- ray fans
- field plot
- spot diagrams
Also generate MTF plots at all fields.
Compare the MTF plots of the double-gauss to the corresponding triplet lens.
